BROOKGATE APPOINTS MANTLE TO STRENGTHEN CB1’s PRIME LOCATION WITH NEW BUSINESS CENTRE
CB1 Business Centre will support Cambridge entrepreneurs
Cambridge, March 2013 - Brookgate, the Cambridge-based mixed-use development company, has appointed Stansted-based business centre expert Mantle to manage a new business centre at 20 Station Road, part of the CB1 masterplan.
The CB1 Business Centre will open in March, and provides flexible, fully-serviced office space for companies of between two and ten people each. There will be 65 work stations available on the 5,500 sq ft floor, and businesses can sign short term licenses, and be up and running the same day.
Sven Töpel, Chief Executive of Brookgate, said:
“The CB1 Business Centre will provide flexibility and on-site support for firms in the early stages of their development, something that will really benefit the burgeoning technology and professional services sectors, which can experience rapid growth over a relatively short period. The unveiling of the CB1 Business Centre combined with opening of the Microsoft Research headquarters at 21 Station Road also demonstrates the appeal of a vibrant city centre environment to the new generation of innovative businesses.”
In addition to desks, telephones, internet access and air-conditioning, occupiers at the CB1 Business Centre will have access to meeting rooms and kitchen facilities, together with a range of secretarial and administrative services that can be bought-in.
A bespoke fit-out programme for the business centre is now complete, and Brookgate reports strong early interest from prospective business centre occupiers.
Dick Jarvis, Chairman of the Federation of Small Businesses (Greater Cambridge Branch), said:
“The CB1 Business Centre provides excellent facilities for the growing community of small businesses based in and around Cambridge. The offer of flexible spaces, short term leases and a city centre location is bound to be attractive for entrepreneurs and small businesses. We are delighted to see Brookgate take into account the smaller businesses in their CB1 masterplan.”
