CB1 cycle park scheme

Brookgate will shortly submit plans for the CB1 cycle park scheme, Britain’s biggest cycle park providing 3,000 spaces over three levels.

Brookgate will shortly submit plans for the CB1 cycle park scheme, Britain’s biggest cycle park providing 3,000 spaces over three levels.

The cycle park is part of the new transport interchange for Cambridge city centre, a key benefit of the CB1 masterplan.  It was designed by Oxford Architects and Formation Architects, and will be operated by the train company Greater Anglia under their Cycle Point brand.  The cycle park will also provide a cycle shop with sales and repair facilities and a bike hire facility.

The planning application will include a 230 bed Ibis hotel, part of the international Accor hotel group which will be located above the cycle park together with new retail or restaurant units fronting the station square together with public funding support from the County Council and DFT funded ATOC.
