Leading law firm becomes second company to agree pre-let at Twenty Two Station Road

Brookgate, the Cambridge-based mixed-use development company, has completed the pre-letting of 15,200 sq ft of office space at  Twenty Two Station Road, part of the CB1 masterplan to Birketts Solicitors.

Birketts previously took 7,077 sq ft of space in Thirty Station Road in 2010, and by 2012 had acquired a further 1,675 sq ft on the same floor by way of assignment.  The new deal means that Birketts has more than quadrupled its floor space in Cambridge in less than 6 years.

Birketts will join major local occupier Mott MacDonald who has already pre-let office space at Twenty Two Station Road. Work on the building will begin in autumn 2013 with completion expected in 2015.

Jonathan Greenhalgh, partner at Birketts said:
“Cambridge is an important area of growth and development for Birketts, and this move is
key to successfully implementing our long term growth plans for the firm.”

Sven Töpel, Chief Executive of Brookgate, said:
“We are pleased to welcome Birketts Solicitors to Twenty Two Station Road. The fact that Birketts Solicitors have chosen CB1 is a real endorsement and demonstrates the fact that the development addresses the on-going demands for companies to be located in a vibrant urban environment with nearby amenities and excellent transport links.”

Twenty Two Station Road will provide a total of 65,590 sq ft (net internal area) of office space and is expected to achieve a BREEAM assessment of “Excellent”.  Extensive landscaping has been designed by landscape architects Robert Myers Architects.
